How to increase your energy level?

What would you do if you had more energy? Many people today struggle with their energy levels; they feel like not doing even the things they love to do. So, how can a person feel more energetic, with a can-do attitude and enough confidence to conquer the world?

There are several activities that you could start today to improve your energy level. Read on to find out what you can do!

First and foremost, take care that you get enough sleep every night. Six to eight hours of undisturbed sleep is a base for all other activities you can do during the day. In order to get ready for the bedtime each night, the best would be to turn off all electronics like TV, computer, mobile phone one hour before bedtime in order to get yourself calmed down and relaxed for a good night a sleep. During that hour you can take a bath, meditate or read an easy book.

Regular exercise is also crucial. A healthy body feels floaty, energized and tension free with nothing hurting. The priority of your exercise should be to increase your energy level, not to get muscular. You could go for simple walks in the park, just to start. A handy gadget to keep you in check and help you accomplish you goals could be Fitbit, or BodyBugg. See their reviews at Fitbit vs Bodybugg.

Some people also like cycling. It is a great activity to increase your stamina, strengthen your legs and your body core. And, last but not least, it is fun, you are constantly moving and discovering the world around you. Just one tip, to feel comfortable on the bike, get yourself one of the bike shorts since bike seats can be quite hard on your behind. One of the best brands of cycling equipment is Pearl Izumi with their incredible Pearl Izumi shorts.

If you do not like going to the gym, you do not have to. You can do all the exercises even in your own home. For that you could get your own personal trainer, or get a DVD program to guide you through the exercises. One of the most comprehensive fitness programs around is the P90X. Check out the P90X workout review.

During the day, and especially during an exercise, do not forget to drink lots of water (half your body weight in ounces or approx. 2 litres per day) in order to flush out the toxins from the muscles and keep the blood flowing. Lack of water can lead to dehydration, and even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired.

Also, do not forget the diet. Eating certain foods makes you more tired than you would normally be if you ate the other foods. Make sure that you provide your body with a steady, balanced supply of complex carbohydrates, protein and heart healthy fats, and not heavy meal at lunch or dinner time. Eat smaller meals throughout the day!
