The Importance Of Exercise For Infants
Everyone needs exercise, young and old and even babies, because it is one of the key ingredients to staying healthy. Babies needas much exercise as an adult does but without the need to go to the gym or follow any exercise routine since all they really need is to do the thing they love and do best which is to play as freely and actively as they can. Infants are very hyperactive and move around a lot and that already serves as an exercise for them. I know that it can be hard to think about leaving a baby all alone to just play and move around but letting them do that will bring long term rewards.
Allowing a child to move around freely helps prevent obesity from happening to a child as exercise would do for an adult. This also allows them to be more familiar with their body and how it works and would eventually learn how to crawl, walk or run on their own without any help from baby equipment like walkers. Letting your baby play freely and actively allows them to develop their motor skills a lot faster than when they are taught in a controlled environment. It is also makes it a habit for the child to constantly have a physical activity that they can do as they get older. It helps your child to eat better, have a better metabolism and sleep more as well.
Your baby can get a lot more from exercise other than just physical development. A lot of research has shown that exercise can help improve a child’s cognitive function. Children who are allowed to play freely actually learn faster and have a longer attention span. You may be thinking that you can teach a child so they can learn what they have to and that is right however, a child’s attention span is as short as their fingers so teaching a child can actually hinder them from naturally developing these skills on their own. A child learns to be more independent and confident if they are allowed to do things on their own. And exercise generally promotes a better mood for everyone and what more for kids who always seem to have fun.
The fear parents have about leaving their hild alone to play as much as they want to is that they could get hurt but the can be solved by baby proofing your home. You can set up a play pen so your child can still do all those things so you can supervise them. Letting your child play and learn by themselves is not a bad thing and will not form a gap between you and your child. As your child learns to move by themselves, you have to learn to trust your child that they can do it and that trust that you put on your child will go a long way until they grow up.
Infants need exercise as much as we do and you now know why so let your child play as much as they want to and the way that they want to.
