You can partake in running almost anywhere and at any time, thanks to technology you can now run inside if you wish (ad own a treadmill), people either really enjoy running, or they really hate it. Even people who hated the idea of running, now like it. They were able to push through the mental block and see the health benefits that go with running.
So how do we run and lose weight? We should begin with some quick tips on running.
Running Fundamentals:
1. Start your running workout with some stretches. You will want to stretch your leg and calf muscles out fully. If you fail to do this you can easily hurt your muscles and put a sudden end to your new running habit!
2) Start slow, then build up. That way, your body will have time to adjust to the exertion. I would recommend this for about two to three minutes, a little longer if you are inexperienced.
3) After a quick 3 minute warm up start to go faster. Keeping in mind that this is the speed that you will be dropping back to after your run. So make sure you can maintain it nicely without too much effort.
4. After you jog at this pace, increase to an even quicker, yet still controllable pace. It is at this speed that you will maximize your ability to burn fat. If you are on a treadmill, you may want to increase the incline at this point, this will greatly increase your body’s ability to burn fat.
5) Mix up your speed from running to jogging regularly. If you are just starting out running then aim to run for about 30 minutes, if you are a bit more experienced then you can aim for an hour.
That is the fundamental framework for high intensity interval training workouts. Using HIIT allows your body to burn fat at its very fastest.
